Pekala: migrating from YouCan to Shopify and reorganising more than 300 products
Pekala sells cycling, running, swimming and triathlon equipment in Morocco. We migrated its catalogue from YouCan to Shopify and rebuilt the store around sporting disciplines.

The client
A broad sports catalogue with a strong outlet side
Pekala offers equipment for four disciplines — cycling, running, swimming and triathlon — with brands such as Zoggs, Spiuk, Continental, Shimano, Orca and Inverse.
A large share of the catalogue is sold at reduced prices: clearance, end-of-line stock and promotions are part of the store's identity.
The challenge
Changing platforms without losing the catalogue's structure
On YouCan, navigation was limited to three links and the collections page mostly listed brands. Sport categories existed, but further down a long homepage.
With more than 300 products and many sizes and colours, the migration couldn't just copy product pages. Products had to move with their variants and images, and the catalogue needed a clear structure by discipline.
The migration
Products transferred, then structured
Products were transferred to Shopify with their size and colour variants and their image galleries.
Each product then received structured attributes — discipline, practice, shoe profile, discount level. These attributes automatically drive the store's collections and filters.
This is the core of our Shopify and ecommerce services.
308
The Shopify admin lists 308 products (last page: 301 to 308).
Size and colour variants, with the 'Discipline' field filled in.
The visual transformation
Before and after
Two key pages of the store, before and after the migration.

Drag to compare
Before, a single column of banners and tiles. After, navigation by discipline, search by product, brand or reference, and sections for universes, new arrivals and selections.
Catalogue organisation
A store organised by discipline
The menu follows the way customers search: Cycling, Running, Swimming and Triathlon, then Accessories, Brands, Personalisation and Promotions.
Collections are automated. A product joins 'Cycling' as soon as its discipline is set, and 'Promotions' as soon as its discount exceeds 39%. The catalogue stays organised without updating collections by hand.

Useful filters on every collection
Colour, price, new in, discount, discipline, availability and size: customers narrow a collection such as Swimming (39 items) down to what fits them.
Custom features
Merchandising built for a sports store
Shopify theme ready for launch, not live yet
These features are part of the Shopify theme prepared for launch. They will be visible online once the store goes live.
Nos univers
From the homepage, six visual entry points lead to each discipline, accessories and promotions.
NEW IN
Products marked as new get a NEW badge, automatically join the New In collection and can be filtered within each discipline.
Promotions
The discount percentage is shown on every product, and a Promotions collection fills itself automatically based on the discount level.
The result
A Shopify store ready to sell
More than 300 products transferred from YouCan to Shopify, with their variants and images.
Automated collections by discipline, product type and discount level.
Navigation and filters designed for sport.
A customised Shopify theme: universes, new arrivals, promotions and product page.
